When the owners of this small, 50 square meter thatched weekend cottage decided to retire here full time, it needed one or two extra amenities - a separate bedroom and study, a full kitchen and indoor plumbing. Even with the additions, the entire home tops out at just over 90 square meters.

The house is constructed almost entirely of local stone and timber with just the barest modern conveniences. It is an ongoing exercise in considered minimalism.
